This is very true. And with high speed dsl and cable the industry standard now nobody waits very long for any site. If it’s working then see ya. Same with a google search. If your not in the top 10 then they don’t tend to find you very easy either.

I never really thought about that…
When i read this article , i tested my site imediatly, and it showed up that it is very slow…
So , i spent whole morning optimizing it , and now it is almost 2x faster ![]()
Here are details from Pigdom Tools:
16 Feb 2009 12:02 CET 2.88 seconds
16 Feb 2009 11:55 CET 4.09 seconds
16 Feb 2009 08:25 CET 4.53 seconds
From 4.53 secs i went to 2.88

February 16th, 2009 at 7:16 amThere are some ways you can speed up the pages, e.g Gzip’ing the pages, although it will increase CPU load on the server & that could be an issue for high traffic sites.
Gzip’ing can be handled in .htaccess file and/or via php, it’s does have an effect though on the speed.
